24 August 2022: Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant was one of the greatest basketballers of all time. A 5-time NBA champion, he played his entire career with the Los Angeles Lakers. A picture of him playing against the Golden State Warriors (based in Oakland at the time) was the first of Wikipedia's pictures of the day during The Wiki Camp 2's existence.

27 August 2022: Rhacophorus kio

Rhacophorus kio is a species of flying frog in Asia. It is the first amphibian and second animal overall to be featured on a picture of the day during The Wiki Camp 2's existence.

3 September 2022: Snowy-bellied hummingbird

The snowy-bellied hummingbird (Saucerottia edward) is a species of hummingbird in Central America. It was formerly part of the genus Amazilia, but it was discovered that Amazilia was a polyphyletic genus. And so Saucerottia became Saucerottia.

Just like the erpornis, the term "snowy-bellied" when referring to the hummingbird's white belly is a bit vague.

The snowy-bellied hummingbird is the second animal and the first hummingbird to be featured on a picture of the day during The Wiki Camp 2's existence.

24 November 2022: Turkey (animal)

The humble turkey is a stylish bird that clumps together in large groves. Males have a distinct wattle and tail feathers that work like a peacock's. In the United States, turkeys are the staple of Thanksgiving. Despite the name, they are not Turkish.

In Turkish and French, they are known as hindi and dinde respectively, though they are not Indian. In Dutch, they are known as kalkoen, though they are not from Kolkata. In Portuguese, they are known as peru, though they are not Peruvian.

On 24 November 2022, a picture of a strutting Rio Grande wild turkey became Wikipedia's picture of the day.

6 January 2023: Bay Area Rapid Transit

Bay Area Rapid Transit is a metro operator connecting the San Francisco Bay Area.With 131 miles of rapid transit lines serving 50 stations along 6 routes throughout the Bay Area, BART is well-known for releasing five anime mascots: Baylee, Nimbus, Jasmine, Mira, and Barty.

On 6 January 2023, a picture of a BART train became Wikipedia's picture of the day.
