Caterpillar

Caterpillars are the larval stage of butterflies and moths. First described by Eric Carle in his groundbreaking scientific essay, caterpillars start munching on organic matter the moment they hatch out of their teeny tiny eggs every Sunday morning. Caterpillars are omnivorous, and they eat specific foods for each day of the week—one apple on Monday; two pears on Tuesday; three plums on Wednesday; four strawberries on Thursday; five oranges on Friday; one piece of chocolate cake, one ice cream cone, one pickle, one slice of Swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon on Saturday, and one leaf on Sunday. By that time, the caterpillars are ready to pupate.
